QVC is the leader in electronic retailing, a televised
shopping service that broadcasts live retail programming 24 hours a
offering a wide variety of
products including jewelry, apparel, electronics, home furnishings,
and beauty.
A virtual shopping mall that never closes, QVC is a place where
customers can, and do, shop at any hour at the rate of two
customers per second. Themed programs are telecast live 24 hours a
day, seven days a week, to 84 million households in the United
States.
QVC The Shopping Channel, a joint venture with BSkyB,
reaches an additional 9.6 million households throughout the United
Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland, broadcasting live 17 hours a
day (from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m.).
QVC Deutschland GmbH, which
launched on December 1, 1996, reaches more than 27 million
households in Germany and broadcasts live 19 hours a day (from 7:00
a.m. to 2:00 a.m.). QVC Japan began broadcasting April 1, 2001 and
reaches over 5 million households. Currently, QVC Japan broadcasts
live 15 hours a day from its studio located in Makuhari.
