Global Television Network
Global Television Network, wholly-owned by CanWest Global
Communications Corp., broadcasts over-the-air via 11 television
stations, licensed in eight provinces, and reaching 94% of
English-speaking Canada.
Miss Match
Global has continually led the industry in
terms of ratings and profitability. The network offers a solid
programming mix aimed primarily at viewers aged 18 to 49, a strategy
which has proven to be extremely successful.
Survivor - Reality Television Series
Global consistently
scores more than half of the top ten programs in Canada, with major
ratings hits such as the reality series Survivors, and sitcoms such
as Friends, The Simpsons, and Will & Grace. Global's Canadian
line-up includes reality series Popstars and Train 48 and police
drama Blue Murder.
CanWest Global owns and operates three television stations - CH
Hamilton, CH Vancouver Island and CH in Montreal, which are run as
independent stations with a strong orientation to the local markets
they serve and with distinct program schedules, separate from the
Global Television Network. CH is designed to appeal to an older
audience than Global, targeting an upscale 25-54 viewership.
