ABC's innovations also extended to the realm of made-for-TV movies, novels for television and miniseries ? including the unprecedented cultural phenomenon of Roots.

Viewers have come to know and trust ABC for its award-winning ABC News franchise which includes the breakthrough late-night Nightline telecast, as well as many other widely watched telecasts such as Good Morning America to World News Tonight with Peter Jennings.

Innovation and cutting-edge technology are now synonymous with ABC Sports, home to Monday Night Football, the most successful sports series in history.
